Favorite yoga pose or workout and why:

My favorite yoga pose changes from Forearm Stand and Child’s Pose daily - sometimes I crave the freedom and delicacy of forearm stand, while other days I just need to hang out in child’s pose in order to get grounded and release tension throughout my body.


Best advice for new students?

Stick with it and enjoy the journey! They call it a yoga practice for a reason. I think that yoga still has this stigma around it that it’s an easy thing, when it fact, it is quite possibly one of the only times in your life when you are challenging yourself mentally, emotionally, and physically, all at the same time. You have the ability to really break yourself open to face who you are, and who you want to become. It’s actually a pretty awesome opportunity if you think about it that way.

“Dog Days Are Over” by Florence + The Machine (it also makes a better mid-afternoon pick-me-up than a cup of coffee)
