"Let's open a yoga studio" they said...

It all started when…

Last summer, Rebecca picked Julie up from the train station and shared her vision of opening a modern, clean, yoga studio in downtown Mystic. The universe works in mysterious ways as Julie was exploring different concepts around spaces and shared her dream of building a vibrant community around health and wellness (on the water). By the end of the weekend, The Kula Project was born with the mantra of celebrating aloha vibes, good people, and daily asana.

We are driven by the idea of creating a space we never want to leave.

A relaxed place where you can get a fun workout in and earn your dinner (or glass of wine). Somewhere where you can hang out with your friends and get a healthy juice or a quick bite (and leave the kids if you need to for a bit). A space where you can grab your paddleboard and do a rejuvenating sunset paddle and feel the sun on your face. And finally a place where you could be inspired everywhere you look, whether by studio teachers, mission driven craft brands, the amazing community who shows up on their mat every week, or simply by looking out onto the beautiful Mystic River.

We welcome you with open arms. If you have any feedback or ideas you want to see come to life, please come say hello. You can find us either teaching a class, lounging out front, on our boards or reach us at aloha@thekulaproject.com.
